The Experts and Back-Story
To initiate a dialogue on the future of procurement and lay the groundwork for a roadmap to get there, in late 2010 Ariba joined forces with two sets of procurement practitioners and influencers. One, a set of visionary and highly seasoned executives; the other, a group of today's vanguard: chief procurement officers in charge of high-performing spend management organizations.
The first is a set of people who, beginning in the early 1990s, rolled up their sleeves to do the hard work of transforming procurement from the tactical paper-pushing of yesterday to the strategic, automated practices of today. The second is a group of leaders who will propel procurement toward innovative kinds of value contribution over the coming decade, and beyond.
Together, they are:

Professor at BYU; former Chief Procurement Officer, Varian, Inc.
former Chief Procurement Officer for Dupont, Chrysler, and The Home Depot

President and Chief Executive Officer, Sourcing Interests Group (SIG)
